G7 ASSURES BUHARI OF SUPPORT

G7 ASSURES BUHARI OF SUPPORT

The G7 industrialised Nations have resolved to give the Nigerian president Mohammadu Buhari the support he needs. The group said it acknowledged the manner in which Buhari emerged president as well as the monumental challenges he is confronted with especially in combating the Islamist terrorist Boko Haram.
In a statement,Buhari's senior special assistant on media and publicity Garba Shehu stated that at the end of Buhari's presentation, the G7 leaders informed him that they recognise preident Buhari's massive amount of confidence and the huge expectations behind his government.
The body acknowledged him as having emerged from an election adjudged to be  the freest in the country's electoral history but regretted the severe handicap his new administration has to face from the outset such as the lack of resources which leaves him with a government over stretched in capacity and is itself riddled with mismanagement, an army lacking in training and equipment and with little or no will to engage. They expressed warm commitment to render desired assistance.
The group further said that in view of the seriousness he has shown in tackling his problem, the group pledged that they would engage, cooperate and collaborate with president Buhari's government in tackling the serious problems Nigeria faces.
